Over the past years, we have presented the pride of Panchal Samaj award to an individual with great talent and who has made outstanding contributions to Panchal Samaj of Ontario, as well as outside community. This award has been typically presented every 2 years at the Annual Diwali function, highlighting talents, achievements and contributions of members of our SAMAJ.
It is with great honour that we present the 2024 “PRIDE OF PANCHAL SAMAJ award to Rakesh H Mistry.
Rakesh is a very talented person who has always been ready to help our Samaj over the years despite his busy personal schedule and young family. Born in Bajipura, Gujarat, India, Rakesh married Darshana and immigrated to Canada soon after that in 2008. They have 2 boys, Jyanshu and Rishi. Rakesh completed his Bachelor of Information Technology in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India and currently works for UNOapp and is also IT consultant for many clients in Canada and abroad.
Rakesh has been a member of Panchal Samaj since 2008 and his support and involvement in the Panchal Samaj began over 5 years ago with providing his IT expertise to the PSO committee. Over this time, Rakesh has assisted Panchal Samaj for PSO website upgrades and updates, prepared PSO event flyers and sent timely email notifications to PSO members based on frequent consultation with the president and the BOD. This year he assisted in setting up a WhatsApp group for members to enhance communication / event notification in both English and Gujarati. Rakesh also assisted in establishing communications via social media for PSO. Platforms such as Facebook and Instagram are now regularly used by PSO committee for communications to members. Last year Rakesh helped to set up an e-transfer process for receiving membership fee and event fees and set up an RSVP system for events. He has also helped with the compilation of Diwali Booklets for the last few years. Overall, Rakesh has facilitated significant IT related process improvements for the Samaj over the years even though he is not part of the committee. He offers his services with a very positive attitude and willingness to bring the latest IT technologies to improve various processes for the Samaj.
Rakesh is also member of Bajipura gaam association and assists the group with managing their website and their annual events. As a well-respected member of his community, the PANCHAL SAMAJ OF ONTARIO would like thank Rakesh for his dedication to PSO and wish him success in his future endeavors.
